Spring Creek inmate indicted for murder

A Spring Creek Correctional Center inmate has been indicted for attempting murder at the prison.

Mark Todd Spencer, 47, is accused of attacking another inmate in August. In addition to attempted murder, Spencer faces Assault I, II and III, and promoting contraband involving a deadly weapon.

This is Spencer’s second time facing attempted murder charges. In 2013 he pleaded guilty to trying to kill another inmate in 2011.

His record goes back to the 1990s with convictions for assault, burglary and promoting contraband.

Arraignment on the most recent charges is set for Dec. 16 at the Seward court.
