Linda K. Davenport - 1942-2014

 

Linda K. Davenport (nee Martin), passed away peacefully on September 16, 2014 in Chetek, WI. Linda was born in Long Beach, CA on May 6, 1942 as the youngest of five children and the only daughter of George and Rosie Davenport. Her mother later remarried and moved her to Seward, AK where Linda was raised, married and had six children.

Linda later remarried, moved to Astoria,OR and had her youngest child. After relocating to Upland, IN, Linda worked for Taylor University for many years. Pursuant to her retirement, she moved to Wisconsin to spend her final years with her children, 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her seven children: Rex Martin, Kelly Martin, Jodie Smith, Blaine "Bammer" Martin, Denise Jacobsen, Tim Martin, and Chance McCormick, as well as two of her brothers, Bob and Ron Davenport.

Ms. Davenport will be interred in the American Legion Cemetery in Seward, AK beside her mother, step-father and aunt. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Moe Lutheran Church, 451 30th Street in Clear Lake, WI, during which the family looks forward to sharing stories and memorializing Linda's life.

Skinner Funeral Home in Rice Lake, WI is serving the family.
