Captain's Mast - Feb. 20, 2014


The following is from the journals of the Seward Police Department. Those who have been arrested or summoned are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

Feb. 10

00:28 - Officer arrested John Rudzinski for driving while license suspended at Seward Highway and Jefferson, and taken to SCJ. Rudzinski was given a verbal warning for speed and window tint.

01:19 - Citation failure to provide proof of insurance issued to Zachary Forbis at Third and Jefferson. Verbal warning given for tag light requirements.

01:55 - Citation driving without a valid operator’s license issued to Thomas Maness at Seward Highway and Dieckgraeff Road. Verbal warning given for failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to use turn signal and tag light requirements. Maness was advised not to drive and license was confiscated.

12:04 - Orca Building would be working on fire alarm systems. Alarm testing completed at 14:37.

18:38 - Individual reported a black dog chasing people and other dogs in the area of Three Bears. ACO was called and she stated that the dog’s name is Bear. Officer found that the dog got out without the owner’s knowledge.

19;02 - Verbal warning for headlight requirements given at Seward Highway and Hemlock.

22:03 - Individual requested an officer to Bayside for removal of an unwanted guest. Officer contacted the subject and furnished transportation to her residence.

Feb. 11

06:10 - Citation for speed issued to Craig R. Ramsay at Essential One carwash

10:45 - 911 misdial.

10:55 - 911 misdial.

10:58 - Individual reported a blue 1988 Chevy Silverado was racing around town and constantly revving engine. It was last seen southbound on Third by Jefferson.

11:49 - 911 misdial.

Feb. 12

08:12 - 911 misdial.

09:03 - 911 misdial.

10:09 - 911 caller reported his vehicle went into the water at Lowell Canyon Bridge. Caller advised no injuries and caller was only person in the vehicle. Officer responded.

13:49 - 911 caller reported a fire alarm activated at the Post Office due to welding work. There was no fire, but assistance was needed in resetting alarm. Fire Department officer responded.

14:50 - Individual reported an assault occurred at LBMA Apartments. Officers, SVFD and SVAC responded. Officers advised that SVFD/SVAC could cancel.

15:20 - 911 caller requested an ambulance to Bayside Apartments for female having a panic attack. SVFD/SVAC dispatched.

16:53 - SAST requested the that the Fire Department standby at the damaged electric box at Bruno Road. They advised that a trooper was en route.

18:10 - Individual reported that there were three dogs on Bear Drive harassing people walking in the area. Officer responded and did not make contact with the animals.

18:26 - Citation for a headlight out issued to John Lee Williams at Fourth and Ballaine. Subject was on probation and they were notified of the stop.

18:50 - Citation for headlight requirement issued to Grant Simeon Brown on the Seward Highway.

19:41 - Misdemeanor summons for DWOL issued to Stacy Lathilic Olblai near Fourth and Port. Verbal warning given for driving with parking lights only.
