Kasilof resident Daniel Michael Martin, 68, surrounded by his wife and close friends, Danny passed away at his home in Kasilof, Alaska on October 18, 2017.

A Celebration of Danny's Life will be held in the summer of 2018.

Danny was born on November 11, 1948 in Pearl River, New York to Charles and Judith Martin.

The Martin family homesteaded on the Kenai Peninsula in the mid 1950's and went back to California in 1963. After graduating from high school Danny returned to the homestead in 1972. He never doubted that he would come back to his true home in Alaska.

Danny was a happy go lucky guy with a smile on his face, a wonderful sense of humor and a very approachable personality. He made work fun whether it be commercial salmon or halibut fishing, his masonry business or as a Charter boat captain. He was well respected and loved by many.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved running traplines on his snow machine in Kotzebue or on the Kenai Peninsula. He looked forward to vacationing on the sandy beaches of Mexico, California and Hawaii, where one of his favorite pass times was surfing and enjoying margaritas by the pool.

Danny is survived by his loving wife Shelly, who he has been with for 31 years; his brother, Skip; and sister, Nancy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Judith Martin.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
