Farmers' Market Nutrition coupons available

Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons are available at the Seward Senior Center for Alaskan seniors age 60 and older. The coupons, which are valued at $25 and may be redeemed at any farmers’ market in the state that offers Alaska-grown produce, will be issued until September 30.

The program provides Alaska-grown fresh fruits and vegetables to lower-income seniors with the goal of improving their health and nutritional status. It also supports local farming by increasing the use of farmers markets and roadside stands.

Seniors wishing to apply for the program can do so at the Senior Center from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Applicants will need to bring an identification card.

For more information contact the Seward Senior Center at 224-5604.
