Lindquist scampers to Frank D crown

Ruby Lindquist etched her name into the conversation as the top cross country runner in the region on Friday afternoon with a dominating performance on her home course during the annual Frank D Invitational.

All Lindquist did was sprint to the top of the girls’ leaderboard and lead Seward to a fourth-place finish in the team standings. Overall, Seward had seven of its runners finish in the top 50.

Lindquist set the standard for SHS in the varsity girls’ division. She posted a winning time of 19 minutes and 58 seconds.

EmmaLee Moore and Tanis Lorring also did well. Moore placed 21st overall at 22:28. Lorring was 32nd at 23:57. Other SHS runners finishing included Coral Petrosius (33rd), Ally Chryss (40th), Emma Armond (45th) and Sadie Lindquist (46th).

The Lady ‘Hawks also did well in the JV division. Sophia Dow legged out a 29th-place finish, while teammate Kalista Rodrigues took 40th. Madilyn Moore and Rebekah Christianson were 46th and 50th, respectively.
