When Solly's Cocktail Lounge opened in the early '60s invitations to were sent to community members.

Sol Urie had purchased the property across from the railroad depot and ran the telegraph office and a liquor store.

The Urie family had been living at Snug Harbor and running the bakery in Seward. Sol moved his wife Hilma, daughters Lee (McAnerney) and Sanna (LeVan), and sons Martin and Sid into town.

Sol's sons Martin and Sid refurbished the building to house the lounge.

The building, recently restored, is now the headquarters of Kenai Fjords National Park.
