We want you!

The Seward Senior Center

It's that time of year again to get out of the house and beat the winter blues, by finding happy people and fun events that will capture your senses, while wishing the winter away. And the senior center has multiple opportunities to entertain you and your friends during these dark winter days.

Did you know that the average of a volunteer at the center is 78 years young? We want to drop that age to 70 years young, by inviting baby boomers to the center to fulfill volunteer opportunities, three hours a day, once a week or more frequently if you are so inclined. Volunteers are needed daily to share a friendly smile, eat our great food, help in the kitchen or assist in a special event or fundraiser. We want you!

For those of you that can't volunteer, we really do appreciate your financial contributions over the years, encouraging the center to add more value to a senior's life. Unrestricted donations help us with start up costs like new towels for foot care, Volunteer Appreciation and gifts for Christmas.

We are very grateful for our partners and friends in 2013, whom have all added value to our services: City of Seward, Kenai Peninsula Borough, State of Alaska, Kenai Peninsula United Way, American Legion, Sons of American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Food Bank of Alaska, Church of the Nazarene, Edward Jones, Alaska Railroad Corporation, Harbor Enterprise, Crowley, Carlile Transport Providence Hospital, FNBA, Seward Brewery, Harbor Bakery, Captain Jacks, Holland America, Kenai Fjord Tours, One Shot Photo, Suds & Swirl, Norseman R/V, Seward Community Foundation, and Polar Seafood's, Lions Club, TelAlaska, Major Marine Tours, Seward Yacht Club, Spring Creek Boutique and to everyone in the community who supported one of our fundraising events in 2013.

And a big thank you to all of our fabulous volunteers that provide warmth, friendship and priceless quality services at the center.

Happy Holidays from all of us!

- Seward Senior Center, Dana Paperman, Anna, Mike and Shirley
