A letter of thanks

Letter to the editor

I am writing this letter with heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude. As many of you know, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church’s roof suffered great damage in a violent windstorm last November.

On behalf of St. Peter’s parishioners and myself, I would like to offer my deepest gratitude and thanks to Phillip Zimmerman and his talented crew of outstanding roofers who worked diligently throughout the winter and spring to replace and insulate the church roof and repair the damage to the walls of the church which had been compromised by water and melting snow.

I also want to thank the many parishioners, Friends of St. Peter’s Church and Seward community residents who gave generously to our cause. With those donations materials were able to be purchased and Phillip and his crew donated their gifts of labor and talent to repair and insulate damage to the roof not covered by insurance.

Thank you Phillip and to your courageous crew who worked in the wind, inclement weather and the 85% degree roofing angle to restore our church roof and restore its historic integrity that so many visitors throughout the world come to visit each year.

With heartfelt thanks and Respect,

— Father Michael Curran, Rector St. Peter’s Episcopal Church
