Veterans invited to fourth annual Veterans Summit
Those interested in helping advance the state’s veterans issues have the opportunity to participate in the fourth annual state-wide Veterans Summit July 19.
The 2012 Alaska Veterans Summit, hosted by the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, the Alaska Veterans Advisory Council and the Joint Alaska State Legislative Veterans’ Caucus, will be held at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage beginning at 8 a.m.
The summit is the culmination of town hall meetings held across the state over the past six months. It is a workshop-type forum composed of leaders from Alaska’s military and veterans’ communities. The summit is a direct opportunity for veterans to lay the foundation for advancing the state’s veterans issues. It will also offer the opportunity for veterans and military members to maximize their benefits and take advantage of retention possibilities through job listings in the community.
The Veterans Summit is open to all veterans.
