Oct. 21

Community book club

The Community Book Club meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, at the Seward Community Library and Museum. At the meeting, Eowyn Ivey’s latest book, “To the Bright Edge of the World,” will be discussed.

Oct. 23

City council meeting

The regular Seward City Council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 23, in the council chambers at City Hall.

Oct. 24

Look up the stars

Look Up to the Stars, an educational and entertaining exploration of the universe, the stars and other celestial wonders, will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, at the Seward Community Library and Museum.

Oct. 28

Budget work session

The Seward City Council will hold a work session to discuss the new city budget. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Teen Masquerade Ball

The Teen Masquerade Ball will be held on Saturday, October 28, at the Seward Resort from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Oct. 31

Halloween carnival

The annual Halloween Carnival will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, at the Dale R. Lindsey Alaska Railroad facility.

Vet coordinator visits

Kenai Peninsula College’s veteran service coordinator will be visiting Seward on November 1 to help locals determine whether they are eligible for VA education benefits. The coordinator will be at Seward High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
