Seward Music and Arts Festival to begin Friday

The Seward Music and Arts Festival will get under way this weekend, bringing some of the area’s top musical performers to Resurrection Bay. The event will begin on Friday, Sept. 22, and run through Sunday, Sept. 24.

The weekend will include live music and dance performances, with local-Alaskan artisan craft and food vendors featured. The festival is an exciting conclusion to the busy summer season that appeals to local Alaskans and remaining visitors alike.

The festival gets under way at 5 p.m. on Friday with appearances by the first of more than 20 acts. The event will wrap up at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.

Vendors scheduled to be offering items at the festival include: Alaska Tundra, Alaska Starflower Uniquities, Arctic Pups, Bijou Bijou Jewelry, Brecht Studios, Corrigan Gear, Don and Barb Soderstrom, Eight Arms Printing Co., Firebreak Art, Hey Wire, Jacara Skin Care, Mountains and Mermaids, Nakaii and Carla, Original Doodle Body Art, Pen and Primer, Sarah Hatfield Glass, Sara K. Glaser, 2nd Nature, Twigs and Tweeds, Wawona Woodcraft, Barely Adrift, Morris Enterprises, Sweet Treats and Great Treats, and Alaska Salmon Leather.

Among the food vendors are Ca-Zudy’s, Durka Durka Stand, Kona Ice, LeBarn Apetit Creperie, Saltwood Smokehouse, Talkeetna Spinach Bread, The Original Gourmet Ice Cream Bars and Two Girls and a Grill.
