Petrosius races to 5th at ACS

Zen Petrosius turned plenty of heads this past Friday with a sensational performance at the ACS 3K Class Challenge at Cheney Lake in Anchorage. The Seward High School standout raced his way to fifth at the boys’ Junior/Senior standings.

Petrosius paced the Seahawks’ efforts by completing the lap around the lake in a time of 10 minutes and 31.90 seconds. Overall, he was among seven Seward runners participating in the Junior/Senior division.

Steven Osborn and Brendan McMurray also turned in solid outings. Both finished in the top 20. Osborn placed 17th with a time of 11:21.52, while McMurray was 19th at 11:35.68.

Trapper Allen and Cole Norcross finished 34th and 36th, respectively, with runs of 12:45.46 and 12:47.43. Teammates Egor Sturdy and Joel Williams finished 40th and 45th, respectively, at 13:04.05 and 14:42.55.

Neil Lindquist, Max Pfeiffenberger and Trey Ingalls highlighted an impressive showing by the Seahawks in the Sophomore/Freshman race. Lindquist took second at 10:45.87, while Pfeiffenberger was fifth at 11:04.59. Ingalls was sixth at 11:05.12.

Samuel Koster and Jaden Van Dyke legged out top 20 spots. Koster was 16th in the final standings with a mark of 11:44.37. Van Dyke was 20th at 12:32.78.

John Moriarty and Justin McMurray also did well in the race, as did Clayton Peterson and Ryan Miller and freshmen Cody Bryden and Sam Paperman. Moriarty was 35th overall at 12:32.78, while McMurray was 38th at 12:38.68.

Peterson checked in at No. 42 at 12:43.56, while Miller and Bryden finished 56th and 59th, respectively. Miller finished the race with a time of 14:01.24. Bryden checked in at 14:43.15. Paperman finished 62nd at 15:51.15.
