Ruby Lindquist and Hanna Cooney gave the Seward High School Lady Seahawks a clean sweep of the top spots in the girls’ divisions at the ACS 3K Class Challenge on Friday in Anchorage. The two SHS standouts raced their way to easy wins in their respective classifications.

One of the state’s top runners, Lindquist ran away with the Junior/Senior division championship. She pounded out a time of 11 minutes and 32.22 seconds and easily outdistanced Anchorage Christian’s Tessa O’Hara.

Emma Moore added to the Lady Hawks’ honor in the Junior/Senior division. She finished third overall with a time of 12:37.25.

Teammate Shiprah Brueckner was 15th at 16:08.11.

Like Lindquist, Cooney had no trouble winning the Sophomore/Freshman division. She turned in a time of 13:05.10 and beat out Galena’s Carlee Merrinet by 13 seconds.

Sophia Dow and Kalista Rodriguez also did well in the race, finishing 14th and 15th, respectively. Dow turned in a time of 14:26.22, while Rodriguez checked in at 14:31.44.
