Ruby Lindquist continued to tear up the Alaska high school cross country scene this past weekend by grinding out yet another top 5 finish. She raced her way to fourth in the individual standings at the Bartlett State Preview on Saturday in Anchorage.

Lindquist’s performance helped lift Seward to a 13th-place finish in the girls’ team standings. Seward’s five runners tallied 306 points. Class 4A West Valley won the girls’ team championship, edging out Kenai Central and Eagle River.

Lindquist made sure Seward had plenty of representation at the front of the pack. She legged out a time of 19 minutes and 34 seconds over the 3.1-mile course at Bartlett High School. Her time was the fastest among all Class 3A runners in the meet—and just 14 seconds behind third-place finisher Ava Earl of South Anchorage.

West Valley’s Kendall Kramer and Faith Widman went 1-2 in the standings. Kramer turned in a winning time of 18:36. Widman was second at 19:20.

Emma Moore gave Seward another solid showing. The SHS standout placed 25th in the 127-runner field with a time of 21:05.

Sophia Dow, Kalista Rodriquez and Ally Chryss also ran well for the Lady Seahawks. Dow finished 95th overall with a time of 24:48. Rodriquez was 99th at 25:05, while Chryss checked in at 109th at 26:30.

Seward will return to action this Friday when they travel to Anchorage to participate in the ACS 3K Class Challenge.
