The following is from the journals of the Seward Police Department. Those who have been arrested or summoned are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

July 26

0001 - Homer Police Department located stolen vehicle and arrested LAFAELE LAFAELE. Vehicle was towed and impounded by Ace Towing. Vehicle owner to be notified by Homer Police Department.

0634 - Seward Parks and Recreation reported that the shower house coin machine in Resurrection Campground had been broken into.

July 29

1012 - RP requested an Officer at Safeway for the report of a man that had been trespassed from the property and came back on to the property. Officer arrested CHRISTOPHER TONIOLLI for 2 counts of Criminal Trespass II.

1012 - CHRISTOPHER TONIOLLI was arrested at Seward Highway for Criminal Trespass II and Theft IV from a previous case on 7/17.

1600 - Officer contacted BRUCE ALLEN LUND at the harbor, and advised him that he was criminally trespassed indefinitely from the Seward Military Resort at the request of the resort manager.

1802 - RP reported that he was parked near the dump station near the Uplands Parking Lot, because his boat was disabled. He was trying to reach the Harbormaster’s office. On call harbor was notified.

2142 - RP at the Breeze Inn reported that she saw subject walking through the Breeze Inn parking lot, and that he had been trespassed from the property before. Subject was walking toward Subway. Officer responded, but could not make contact.

2144 - A wallet was reported lost at the SMIC beach.

2200 - RP reported three individuals and a dog at Lowell Creek Beach causing a disturbance and drinking alcohol. RP reported they were antagonizing him with their dog. Officers responded and determined the group was just playing fetch with their dog.

2258 - RP reported an obnoxious and possibly intoxicated male outside of Pacific Park Apartments yelling and speaking loudly. Officers responded and spoke with the complainant. Officers found no one matching the description.

2333 - A verbal warning was given to LANDON REEVES LESCHPER for an inoperative headlight at Seward Highway and Sea Lion Avenue.

2338 - Troopers arrested MARSHALL ALLEN BYERS for assault IV and criminal mischief IV, and transported him to Seward Community Jail.

July 30

0147 - RP advised that the change machine at the Resurrection campground shower house was open. Officer removed the change holder and left it in dispatch for the campground department to retrieve.

0241 - Citation issued to TRAVIS SNYDER at 5th Ave for failure to register vehicle.

0914 - Subject reported that he found his wallet.

0902 - Officer retrieved drugs from Icicle Seafoods.

0929 - Parks and recreation reported that someone had broken into the change machine at the Resurrection Campground shower house and requested an officer to file a complaint.

1243 - USCG reported subjects and two juveniles are overdue. If located have them contact USCG sector Anchorage.

1309 - RP requested a welfare check on a male near the ballpark overflow campground – just outside the fence who is intoxicated. She observed him trying to crawl up a nearby hill to his light green tent. Officer made contact with subject and found he was able to care for himself.

1347 - USCG notified via Marine 16 that Overdue motorists/boaters have been located at Lost Lake and are not in distress.

1359 - Providence Hospital requested an ambulance to pick up the medivac crew at 1425.

1542 - RP reported that a medium size dog bit his daughter on the head in front of the Alaska Starfish Co., Fourth Avenue. Message left on ACO cell. Officer responded and spoke with subject about her dog. Minor scratch to one year old child, otherwise the child was unharmed.

1610 - RP reported he witnessed a hit and run at Seward Highway. The suspect vehicle JHD990 left the Safeway parking lot headed north on the Seward Highway. Officer spoke with RP and the owner of the victim vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle and no charges forwarded.

1620 - A female reported a possible assault in FMN245 leaving the Safeway parking lot. Officers made contact with the vehicle and report was determined to be unfounded.

1626 - RP reported several vehicles speeding near No Sweat Auto on Third Avenue with children in the area. Officers were unable to locate any speeders and didn’t see any children in the vicinity.

1652 - SAST dispatch requested a unit at Third and Washington across from the Orca Building for an unknown problem. Later cancelled response.

1700 - RP reported subject is working at Icicle Seafoods and has a $5,000 felony warrant out for her arrest.

1703 - Troopers arrested AARON THOMAS HENDERSON on a $250 warrant for failure to appear at Third and Washington.

1821 - RP reported the Anchorage location of male subject wanted on a $50,000 Palmer felony warrant. Information relayed to Anchorage dispatch.

2023 - Verbal warning given to HEATHER JACOBSON at Seward and Resurrection for speed.

2031 - RP advised that an ex-employee is refusing to leave the Polar Seafoods Property. Officer was unable to locate employee on the property.

2206 - Verbal warning given to DIAZ ALEJANDRO at Seward and North Harbor for speed.

July 31

0130 - RP reported that his girlfriend was belligerent and intoxicated in front of Once In A Blue Moose downtown. Officers contacted both individuals who went home in a taxi.

0359 - Agency assist requested to Nash Road for an intoxicated and belligerent female threatening to kill her boyfriend. Officer transported female to Harbor 360 hotel.

0827 - Officer arrested NYAMAL DOBUOL THARJIAH DENG on a $5000 Anchorage AST Judicial Services warrant for Assault 2.

0906 - Polar Seafoods advised that FAASOOSOO SOIFUA had returned to Polar Seafoods property and was refusing to leave. Officer advised SOIFUA of his criminal trespass indefinitely from Polar Seafood property. Officer stood by while SOIFUA collected his personal belongings. SOIFUA left in a taxi.

0930 - RP advised that her power was out as well as Kimberly Court. Electrical crew was aware and stated it would be out for at least another 20 minutes.

1000 - On call electrical advised the power has been restored to the Clear View area.

1100 - Officer requested a case for MCA for NYAMAL DOBUOL THARJIAH DENG.

1249 - Officer spoke with managers of Bay View Apartments Sixth Avenue regarding a vehicle that was supposed to be removed from the premises, but instead plates were removed and vehicle was left. Manger will have the vehicle removed.

1400 - Ambulance requested to Third Avenue.

1603 - RP reported that she left a 5 X 10 case either at the train depot or on the train with several items in it.

1809 - Citation issued to DAVID MORENO at Seward Highway and Airport Road for driving with revoke license. Verbal warning given for speed. Mr. MORENO was advised of his suspended and/or revoked status out of California.

1913 - Citation issued to CATHERINE OPAL DANLEY at Third and A Street for speed.

2036 - TONY’S BAR requested an Officer to assist with an intoxicated patron refusing to leave. Officer advised MARK KNUDSON that he is indefinitely trespassed from Tony’s Bar property.

2047 - Officer assisted pushing a disabled vehicle into the Essential One parking lot.

2140 - RP advised that his vehicle is missing from 4th Ave. RP does not have the license plate number or the name of the person he recently purchased the car from. Officer located the vehicle at the Benny Benson Memorial and transported RP to the area.

Aug. 1

0515 - RP reported seeing a female at the Resurrection Campground shower house enter the men’s and woman’s shower rooms, and seeing damage to the coin machine. The suspect left in the vehicle EZJ692 heading west on Madison Street. Officer interviewed RP on scene.

0638 - A warning was left on DNS421 at 5th Avenue for parking against the flow of traffic.

0641 - Employee reported that she had accidentally set off the alarm at the Teen Center. Guardian Security also reported an alarm had gone off at the same location. Officer contacted employee and the alarm was shut off.

0823 - An ambulance was requested to the Harbor Master’s Office.

0920 - A citizen turned in a diaper bag to the police department.

0958 - A 911 caller reported that a black pickup was chasing a white Honda Pilot at a high rate of speed, trying to run it off the road and it had turned down Adams street. A second caller reported the same black pick up, with a male driver wearing a baseball cap and white Honda Pilot at Third and Washington then turned up Jefferson toward the Hospital. A third caller saw the same two vehicles at Third and Jefferson then go down the alley between First and Second. Officer unable to locate either vehicle or the drivers.

1028 - Citation issued to JERRY MICHAEL BLITZ at Seward Highway and Hemlock Street for speed.

1405 - Citation issued to CAROLINE TRAVIS-RESL at North Harbor and Third Avenue for failure to carry proof of insurance. Verbal warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.

1706 - An anonymous caller reported FRZ729 was heading down Ballaine Blvd towards the Breeze Inn and believed the driver was intoxicated. Officer made contact with subject and found he was not intoxicated.

1825 - Military Resort Campground Host requested assistance getting a husky that is going after children out of the campground. Officer was unable to locate the dog. Message left on ACO cell phone.

1935 - Citation issued to MAURICE MURPHY MCIVER at Third and D street for speed.

2007 - Received a phone call reporting that the owner of the dog from a previous case was located at Spruce St. Officer spoke to owner and informed them that the dog needed to be on a leash.

2043 - Citation issued to ADAM KAUFMAN at Seward Highway and Bear Dr for failure to stop at stop sign.

2329 - Verbal warning given to BRANDON LOVELL at Seward Highway and Sealion Ave for headlights off after sunset.

2333 - Citation issued to BRENAN MCCARRAGHER at Seward Highway for speed.

2343 - RP requested an Officer at Resurrection Campground on the beach for report of a group of people that were drunk and being loud. Officer responded and talked to subject and his party agreed to shut the noise down for the night.

Aug. 2

0551 - Verbal warning given to CHRISTOPHER MAINARD at 3rd Ave and Van Buren St for speed.

0558 - RP reported a man in a jeep that was driving erratically and pulled in at the Chevron gas station. Officer responded and found vehicle empty and no one in it or at businesses in the area. Officer advised Chevron employees to contact the PD if anyone shows up to move the vehicle.

0617 - Parking warning left on vehicle JFR667 at 5th Ave and Washington St for parking against flow of traffic.

Aug. 3

0046 - RP requested an Officer at the Yukon Bar because BRIAN LYNCH had ripped his shirt and been kicked out of the bar but was trying to come back inside. Officers responded and spoke to BRIAN LYNCH, another subject, and RP. Neither parties wanted to press charges and BRIAN LYNCH was advised he was permanently trespassed from the Yukon.

0154 - Verbal warning given to KEVIN LIN at Seward Highway and Sea Lion Ave for speed.

0656 - Seward Providence Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew transport from the airport. SVAC was dispatched.
