August 3, 2017 | View PDF

The Seward Animal Shelter will be holding an open house and barbecue from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, as part of its ongoing efforts to raise funds for a new shelter facility and to thank the members of the community for their support.

A “Dress Your Pet” costume contest for animals will be part of the event. Organizers will also offer a tour of the current facility to showcase improvements and give people the opportunity to meet the shelter’s inhabitants. A barbecue meal prepared by the Seward Police Department will be available, as will a drawing for various prizes, among them tickets for two on a Major Marine cruise, a $75 gift certificate to the Exit Glacier Salmon Bake, and a gift certificate for an hour-and-a-half massage. Tickets for the drawing are $5 each or five for $20, and can be purchased from the shelter or the police department.

For more information about the open house or any of the events contact the Seward Animal Shelter at 907-422-7150.
