Iris Darling named to SHP Committee

The City of Seward added another key member to the Seward Historical Preservation Commission on Monday when longtime resident Iris Darling was appointed to the organization by members of the Seward City Council. A former member of the SHPC, she will serve a 3-year term.

“We need to preserve Seward’s historic district as it is one of the last Alaskan towns that remains historic,” Darling said on her application for one of the vacant positions on the commission.

The Seward Historic Preservation Commission still has several seats open. Individuals interested in serving on the SHPC can contact City Hall.
