The Independence Day parade will once again be a major attraction for locals and visitors on July 4. The annual parade, which is sponsored by the Seward Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

According to the chamber, parade entries will be staging in the AVTEC First Lake parking lot. All entries are requested to be at the staging area by noon to begin lining up for the 1 p.m. start.

Once entries leave AVTEC's First Lake parking lot, they will make a left turn onto Jefferson Street and then turn right onto Fourth Avenue. All entrants will make their way down Fourth, pausing briefly in front of the grandstand so announcers can recognize them. Once they have made their way down Fourth they will turn left on Railway, go one block and then turn left onto Fifth Avenue. The parade will disperse at Fifth and Madison.

All entries in the 2017 parade should have been submitted to the chamber by June 15.

For more information about the parade or any of the other Independence Day activities, contact the chamber at 224-8051.
