Route for July 4th parade released

One of the major attractions for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations now has a route. The Seward Chamber of Commerce released the route for the 2017 parade recently.

According to the chamber, parade entries will be staging in the AVTEC First Lake parking lot. All entries are requested to be at the staging area by noon to begin lining up. The parade will begin at 1 p.m.

Once entries leave AVTEC’s First Lake parking lot, they will make a left turn onto Jefferson Street and then turn right onto Fourth Ave. All entrants will make their way down Fourth Ave., pausing briefly in front of the grandstand so announcers can recognize them. Once entries have made their way down Fourth Ave., they will turn left on Railway, go one block and then turn left onto Fifth Ave. The parade will disperse at Fifth and Madison.

All entries in the 2017 parade should have been submitted to the chamber by June 15.

For more information about the parade or any of the other activities contact the chamber at 907-224-8051.
