Clinton Fearon, Mark Oi and Rusty Zinn perform an acoustic show in Homer on June 2 at Alice's Champagne Palace. A native of Jamaica, Fearon is an award-winning reggae artist.

Clinton Fearon brought the sound of the islands to Homer last Thursday when he joined two other artists on stage for an acoustic show at Alice's Champagne Palace. The show was part of their 4-day "Let Your Love Light Shine" tour of the Kenai Peninsula.

An award-winning reggae musician, Fearon performed for more than an hour for the crowd, playing many of his songs, including several from his time with The Gladiators, an influential Jamaican reggae band he spent almost two decades with in the 1970s and 1980s. After leaving the Gladiators, he relocated to Seattle and started the Boogie Brown Band.

Joining Fearon on stage for the show were Rusty Zinn and Mark Oi, a longtime friend who is a member of the Boogie Brown Band.

Prior to performing in Homer, the trio kicked off their tour with a show at Tito's Discovery Cafe in Hope on June 1. They finished off the tour with a June 3 show at Gwin's Lodge in Cooper Landing and a June 4 show at the Cannery Lodge in Kenai.

The shows marked the second time in as many years Fearon has played on the Kenai Peninsula. He was among the major acts to perform last year at Salmonfest.
