Halibut tourney gets started today

 


The 11th Annual Seward Halibut Tournament gets under way today.

According to Seward of Chamber of Commerce officials, the tournament began at 6 a.m. and will run through 8 p.m. on June 30. Participants can purchase a one-day entry ticket for $10 or a 3-day entry for $25. Fish must be turned in at the end of the day to one of the three weigh-in stations.

Tickets can be purchased as various businesses in the community, including the Seward Chamber of Commerce, Alaska’s Puffin Fishing Charters, Aurora Charters, Bay Barge Company, Captain Jack’s Seafood Locker, Crackerjack Charters, Fish House, J-Dock Seafood, J-Dock Sportfishing & Charters, Millers Landing, Saltwater Safari Company and the Seward Military Resort.
