38 grads receive diplomas

 

The Seward High School alumni ranks grew by more than 35 on Tuesday when the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District staged its local commencement ceremonies. A total of 38 seniors received their diplomas on May 23 as part of the event, which was held in the SHS gymnasium.

Among the SHS seniors graduating were Jeremiah Anderson, Reid Broughton, Jasmyn Calhoon, Grace Callicut, Elias Davis, Rebekah Dean, Jonah DeBoard, Cassidy DeLand, Basil Dougherty, Soren Fejes, Trenten Freiberg, Anthony Gibson, Roman Hamner, Gabriel Harris, McKinze Hauze, Sullivan Hauze, Kristopher Hettick, Kimberly Hubbard, Kyle Hubbard, Katelyn Kallio-Withrow, Hunter Kratz, Tia Miranda, Tasha Murphy, Kjell Nilsson, Nikolas Pahno, Victoria Piro, Xavier Prince, Hope Quinn, David Ramirez, Isabel Rodriguez, Rhett Sieverts, Logan Smith, Sabrina Spiers, Dan Van Slyke, Jarrod Vander Vegt, Takodah Veach, Nickalus Walker, Michael Wilps III, Nocolas Woodard, Toni Zacher and Zane Zimmerman.

Max Ingalls served as the guest speaker for the ceremony.

A baccalaureate ceremony was held for the Class of 2017 on Sunday, May 21.
