The following is from the journals of the Seward Police Department. Those who have been arrested or summoned are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.

April 18

0445 - Officer left a parking warning on JBM596 at 5th Ave for parking against flow of traffic.

0718 - 911 misdial received from (907) ******. Spoke with subject on callback. Advised that all was okay. No sounds of distress.

0847 - Seward Resort is testing their alarm systems today

0954 - RP reported 2 males and a female wearing dark clothing that were taking pictures of vehicles parked on 3rd Avenue. Officer advised.

1310 - Hotel Edgewater is doing fire alarm testing today

1349 - 911 pocket dial from SMIC. Callback revealed all ok. No sounds of distress from SMIC. Officer advised.

1507 - AST advised SPD that subject was driving in a maroon Mercury Sable and was issued a DWLS at Mile 44 Seward. Trooper advised subject did not wait for a driver and is heading southbound toward Seward and can be charged with NVOL per the DA. Officer responded.

1707 - 911 caller requested the number to the hospital nurses line.

1800 - Citation issued to KELLI NICHOLE HATFIELD at Seward Highway and Hemlock Street for speed.

1926 - Citation issued to ANTHONY MARK MADRID at Seward and Sea Lion Drive for speed

2008 - Verbal warning given to JAHNI COWAN BLANKENSHIP at Third and Madison for failure to stop at a stop sign.

2017 - Citation issued to MARTIN MIGUEL CUNNINGHAM at mile 2.5 of the Seward Highway for speed.

April 19

0456 - Parking warning left on JAK633 at 139 4th Ave for parking against flow of traffic.

0719 - Ambulance requested to Spring Creek Correctional Facility.

0830 - Seward Resort testing fire alarms today

1118 - Anonymous RP turned in a Glock 9mm loaded magazine found on the beach near the playground. Info entered in Lost/Found Book.

1624 - RP requested a welfare check on a motorhome that has been parked in front of the Kenai Fjords National Park headquarters building, Washington Street for over three days. Officer responded and made contact with the registered owner, who stated that he will move the motorhome.

1720 - RP reported seeing two males pry open the gate at the Jesse Lee Home and enter the home. The males were described as being in their twenties. Officer responded and nobody was found inside the home.

2123 - RP advised of a campfire with unknown occupants at the south end of the Seward Lagoon. On duty fire chief made contact with two individuals at the campsite. The two advised that they would extinguish the fire.

April 20

0254 - Guardian Security reported a burglary alarm at 3rd Ave, TYC. Officer contacted subject who was having trouble turning the alarm off. He was at the building to clean.

0723 - Parking warning was left on GTH475 at 519 4th Ave for parking against flow of traffic.

0728 - RP advised of Jeep parked in the roadway near Mile 1.5 Seward Hwy. Office contacted owner who advised Wallace Brothers Towing is en-route to assist.

1445 - RP reported a female that was stumbling along the Seward Highway by Sailing Inc. Officer responded and unable to locate the female in the area.
