City OKs deal with AEC to repair elevator

The Seward City Council approved a bid from Arctic Elevator Company, LLC at its recent meeting to repair the city’s inoperable elevator at city hall.

During to April 24 session, members of the council authorized Seward City Manager James Hunt to have AEC repair the elevator system. One of three bids receives, Arctic Elevator Company’s bid of $86,300 is for a “turn key” operation to modernized the elevator’s electrical controls and electronic controller systems, and the installation of a recal fire alarm system.

Funding for the repairs will be appropriated from the City Hall building account in the General Fund.
