Chamber seeking Community Award nominees

December 15, 2016

The clock may be ticking slowly toward the end of 2016, but it is also beginning a countdown to another important time in the Seward community - the time to recognize the people and businesses that make Seward a special place.

Chamber officials have officially started accepting nominations for its annual effort to recognize local individuals for their commitment and service through its Community Awards program. The 2016 “Person of the Year,” as well as the “Business Person of the Year” and “Business Site Improvement” awards will be announced on Feb. 3, beginning at 6 p.m. at The Seward Resort.

Individuals that would like to nominate a local resident, or business for the awards should fill out a nomination form and return it to the chamber office. Nomination forms can also be turned in at the chamber office, at 2001 Seward Highway, or via e-mail at

The awards were established to help the City of Seward recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the people and businesses of Seward, said chamber representative Cindy Clock.
