Seward spikers split Southcentral bouts with ACS, Grace Christian

The Seward High School Lady Seahawks continued to make their way through the 2016 season this past week with a strong showing against the Anchorage Christian Lady Lions and Grace Christian girls in Southcentral Conference volleyball action.

Seward, now 6-4 for the year, kicked off the week’s action on Thursday by taking a 3-0 victory over ACS at home. The Lady Seahawks won posted wins of 25-6, 25-23 and 25-19.

Tia Miranda and Riley Von Borstel had five kills apiece.

Seward didn’t fair as well on Saturday in their showdown with conference-leading Grace Christian. The Lady Grizzlies took a 27-25, 25-19, 25-19 win.

With the loss to Grace Christian, Seward slipped to 6-3 in Southcentral Conference play. Grace Christian improved to 9-0.
