The Seward High School senior nailed down a spot in the upcoming Class 1A-2A-3A state cross country meet on Saturday by running to his sixth victory of the season at the Region III Championships in Soldotna. By virtue of the win, Kratz will be heading into the state meet this weekend at Bartlett High School as one of the pre-race favorites. Steven Osborn, Roman Hamner and Jaden Van Dyle also did well, taking 29th, 31st and 32nd, respectively. Simon Estes rounded out the varsity’s effort by placing 34th.
