Zena Fleming


Lifelong Seward resident, Zena Fleming, 85, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Providence Seward Mountain Haven Assisted Living Home in Seward where she lived and "played" since May 2015 under the professional and loving care of Mountain Haven Staff.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Ave. Anchorage, AK 99515. Pastor Charles Fricke will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. A reception will immediately follow the services. Her Ashes will be spread at her late husband Roy's gravesite at the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, with some ashes spread in King Cove, Alaska this fall.

Zena was born April 6, 1931 to Karl Charles Joe & Vera (Veraskin) Hoff in Sanak Island, Alaska. She had worked as a cannery worker in Squaw Harbor, Alaska. Zena had also lived in King Cove, Anchorage and Seward. She enjoyed dance, bingo, road trips, staying in touch with family and friends via cards for every holiday. She had regular visits from family and friends, routine excursions to local picnics, the Senior Center, local stores for shopping, local craft fairs as well as charter boat trips on beautiful Resurrection Bay.

Aunt Zena will be remembered as our "Spunky" Aunty who loved all her family and friends and is already missed, but will be held in loving memory by all her extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Karl Charles Joe Hoff; mother, Vera Veraskin Hoff; spouse, Roy Fleming; and brothers, Johnny Hoff, James Hoff, Efin Hoff, Charles Hoff, and Peter Hoff.

She is survived by her nephews, Charles Allen Hoff and Marvin Dennis Hoff both of Anchorage, Clifford James Hoff of Kasilof, AK; nieces, Diane L. McRae and her husband, Doug McRae Sr. of Seward, AK, Geraldine Ackerman of Sterling, AK and Kathy Hoff of Soldotna, AK; great nephews, Jar-R Hoff of Fresno, CA, Cliff Hoff II, James Hoff and Charlie Hoff all of Anchorage, AK and Doug G. McRae, Jr. of Moose Pass, AK; great nieces, Sylvia Berg of Anchorage, AK, Tammy Groves of Fence Lake, NM and Lisa Jackson of Sand Point, AK; and numerous great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
