The two local youngsters legged out impressive wins in their respective age divisions during the children's race. Runiamus won the 5-year-old boys' title by edging out Brycen Turner. Both Runiamus and Turner are residents of Seward.

Berry highlighted a 1-2-3 finish by local runners in the boys' 2-year-old division. A resident of Moose Pass, Berry beat out Seward's Liam Bryan for the top spot. Seward's Corey Barnett finished third.

Arielle Fleming and Parker Blair also did well in their divisions. Fleming took second in the girls' 2-year-old race, while Blair was third in the boys' 4-year-old standings.

Ryah Thrall and Claire Anger both finished second in their races. Thrall was the runner-up in the boys' 6-year-old race to Anchorage's Kai Finch. Anger finished second to Anchorage's Joyce Champada in the girls' 6-year-old race.
