City flag in the works

A contest is underway to develop a flag for the City of Seward. Seward City Council passed a resolution on Feb. 22 to support a youth art contest for the flag’s design. The winning design will be presented to council for adoption as the official flag of the city.

Entrants must be 18 or younger, and live between Lowell Point and Mile 38 of the Seward Highway. Each entry must be an original design and one design per entrant is allowed. Entries need to be on an 8.5 by 11-inch sheet of paper.

Entry forms are available at the Seward City Clerk’s office at Fifth and Adams.

The deadline for entries is 4:30 p.m. April 29. For information email
