Arvin Paul Darity

Seward resident Arvin Paul Darity, 65, passed away from pneumonia on Dec. 31, 2015 at Providence Seward Medical Center.

Darity was born Oct. 16, 1950 in Kingman, Arizona. He moved to Seward in November 2010.

Paul was a Christian and loved gospel music. He also liked to look at car magazines.

"Paul was the baby of the family from birth. He loved hugs and said 'thank you' with his smile. He may not have understood the concept of time, but he knew all grown-ups wear watches and he refused to allow the nurse to take his away. He was a very special person and we loved him dearly," his family wrote.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Arrie P. Darity, mother, Ruth Darity Bragg and an infant brother, Frank Lane Bragg.

He is survived by his brother, Joe Darity of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen (Darity) and Gene Croom of Sterling, Judy (Darity) Parks of Kokomo, Indiana and Pamela Darity of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.; brother, George W. Bragg of Midland, Texas; nieces and nephews, Dan and Casey Darity both of Wichita Falls, Bobby Croom of Seward, Lane Croom and wife, Wendy of Wasilla, Conley Paul Croom and wife, Dawn, of Soldotna, Mike Chambers and wife, Mandy, of Indianapolis, Jemael Partlow and husband, Klent, of Kokomo, Indiana, Garret Bragg and wife, Brittany of Pueblo, Colorado, Amy Wells, and husband, Chris, and Emma Bragg all of, Midland, Texas; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were Jan. 11, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai. Pastor Jon Watson officiated. Burial was in the Kenai City Cemetery.

There will also be a memorial service held at Mountain Haven in Seward at a later date.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
