Borough assembly member up for election

 


The representative to the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly from the east portion of the borough is up for election on Oct. 6. Several service board positions will also be voted on.

The current assembly member, Sue McClure, has served the maximum amount of consecutive time allowed and will not be running for reelection in the district that includes all of the East Kenai Peninsula as well as part of Sterling. The term is three years.

Service area board positions open on the East Peninsula include two three-year Bear Creek Fire Service Area seats, and two one-year and one 3-year Seward-Bear Creek Flood Service Area seats.

The filing deadline for the positions is Aug. 17 at noon.

Filing forms and information are available online at http://www.kpb.us, at the KPB Annex office in Seaview Plaza at 302 Railway in Seward or the KPB Borough Clerk’s office in Soldotna. Forms can be filed at the Seward or Soldotna offices.
