Mayor, council seats up for election

 


The Seward city mayor and three city council seats are up for election on Oct. 6. The filing deadline for the positions is Aug. 17 at noon.

All the positions are two-year terms. All are at-large positions – Seward officials are not elected by districts or areas.

Filing packets are available at the city clerk’s office beginning July 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. week days at Fifth and Adams, and can be turned in until noon Aug. 17

Currently the mayor’s position is held by Jean Bardarson who is serving her first term. The three council seats are held by Christy Terry, David Squires and Iris Darling.

Information about filing for office or about the election is available at the Seward City Clerk’s office, 224-4046.
