Mary Kathryne Walker-Miller

Mary Kathryne Walker-Miller, 61, of Seward passed away on May 23, 2015 at her home.

Mary was born on July 3, 1953 to Lowell and Mary (Steele) Walker in Okarche, Oklahoma.

She worked for Burlington Northern Railroad before she moved to Alaska in 1980, first living in Nome and finally settling in Seward in 1989. In Alaska, she worked for AC Company in Nome and for Underwater Construction before owning Kate's Roadhouse Bed and Breakfast in Seward from 1992-2010.

Mary was preceded in death by her brother, John Walker.

Her husband, Stephen, who survives of the home says, "It's not about weathering the storm, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

A memorial service will be held at the family home, 30974 Border Ave. in Seward on June 12.
