Sister city project comes to end, friendship lives on

After a jam packed week of painting and sight seeing, the sister city mural project came to an end last week. The final product, above, was a labor of love say the mural artists. When the Obihiro artists completed their mural, they lined up the panels to make sure it worked as a unit. Above, Seward's Japanese friends Motoko, Chizuki, Akira, Nosoko, Mika, Midori, Murai, Josh, and Hiyashi Nobuhide - Citizens Activity Department Director. As a special treat, below, Japanese calligrapher Osaka offered a specialty workshop that was attended to capacity said Dot Barderson of the Seward Mural Society. Below, Osaka works on a giant cloth banner and the whole gang show off their finished banner. There were even a table full of children who learned how to use a sumi brush and basic techniques.
