Laura Kromrey tossed off a state championship performance in the discus competition to bring home a third title for the Seahawks.

Laura Kromrey hurled the discus nearly 100 feet at Dimond High School in Anchorage last Friday to move to the top of the field. Tannen Berry captured the top spot in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles.

The boys 4x400 relay team took second and the girls Sixth. Howie Hubbard put in a third place turn at the shot put and Zach Martin also lept to third in the triple jump.

The SHS Seahawks boys team won a second place trophy, tied with Grace Christian.

The championships closed a chapter in Seahawks history as they were SHS Athletic Director Sami King's final bow before leaving the position after two years.

This story has been to corrected to reflect the SHS boys team second place finish.
