Librarian checks out

A low key potlatch at the Seward Community Library Museum Friday served as the occasion to give retiring library director Patricia Linville her send-off after a 15-year career at the Seward institution. Upon her initial hiring in 1998, Linville was tasked by Seward City Manager Scott Janke and councilwoman Margaret Branson with the project of developing a new library for the community. Linville says she said yes at the time because she wanted the job. Her retirement comes almost a year and a half after a new $10 million facility was opened under Linville's management.
