First visitors ride the rails

Wolfgang Kurtz | The Seward Phoenix LOG

A handful of passengers disembarked at Seward Station after the conductor signaled the all clear for the first arrival of the Alaska Railroad's Coastal Classic. The visitors were greeted by record breaking sunny weather unlike last year, when the first passenger train of the season arrived to falling snow. The Coastal Classic will run between Anchorage and Seward through Sept. 14.
