City ramps up repairs

Wolfgang Kurtz | The Seward Phoenix LOG

As part of a prescription for repairing cracked, broken and heaving downtown sidewalks, a Harmon Construction crew drops a dose of concrete on a Fourth Avenue sidewalk. This week workers removed sections of decorative brick that were a liability for pedestrians, snow shovelers and those with disabilities. The gaps are being repaved with smooth concrete under a $1.2 million City of Seward contract that also specifies replacement or installation of sidewalk ramps including one for access to the Seward City Hall building.
