Seward Middle School welcomed the borough middle school tournament to the area for the first time in nearly a decade.

Seventh and eighth graders squared off against competitors from around the Kenai Peninsula and wrestling program assistant Chad Hinders says that may include sixth graders next year, although the event will likely be held back in the Central Peninsula.

Seward's Chris Kingsland bested Seward's Simon Estes for third place in the 100-pound weight class and Case Estes overcame Mckenzie Cook of Homer for Third in the 110-pound weight class. In two rounds, Seward's Eddy Olesiuk pinned down second place in the 120-pound weight class. Sage Ferguson of Seward took down Levi Wahl of Soldotna for fourth in the 155-pound weight class.
