A vaporous fog roils off the 39 degree waters of Resurrection Bay in a Monday morning view along the north bay waterline. With air temperatures within one degree of a 2007 record low of 6 for Feb. 24, a short cold snap ushered in overnight frostbite weather to the area for a few days over the past week. However temperatures that climbed daily into balmy 30s with the warming sun and longer days are now forecast to keep temperatures ranging from freezing to mid 40s through the weekend thanks to a wet weather system that started generating rain overnight into Wednesday. Rainfall may turn to snowfall early next week, but it will be warm snow.
