Sylvia Sexton Collection | Seward Community Library Museum

Early 20th century baby boom.

Prolific Seward photographer Sylvia Sexton documented this baby show during the 1910s and the photo is among a collection of Seward photographs that now reside in a series of Resurrection Bay albums housed in the Seward Library Museum. Sexton snapped thousands of pictures of Seward and vicinity and sold many of them from a local shop she opened in 1917. She sold her photography store in 1951 and left the area in 1961 at the age of 76.
