Local group plays at folk fest

Snow River String Band, a newly-formed bluegrass group of Seward area youngsters performed at the Anchorage Folk Festival Jan. 17.

Snow River String Band, a newly-formed bluegrass group of Seward area youngsters facilitated by local musician Jim Pfeiffenberger, performed at the Anchorage Folk Festival before a crowd of 900 at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium. They played shortly before principal guest artists Della Rae on Jan. 17. Left to right: Lucy Hankins (fiddle), Lydia Jacoby (guitar), Neil Lindquist (mandolin), Sam Koster (standup bass), Max Pfeiffenberger (banjo) and Karl Pfeiffenber (guitar).
