An auction to benefit the oldest operational church in Seward offered an exaltation of desserts, displayed at the Seward Community Library Museum on Sunday. Master of ceremonies Ron Long was called upon to undertake the auction proceedings, which were underlined by the dedication of the affair to Betty Casey Skinner, a long time dessert auction organizer and supporter of the St. Peter’s Episcopalian congregation as well as an unofficial conservator of the historic building. With treats ranging from cranberry-orange relish to pineapple refrigerator pie, many in attendance were spotted sporting beatific expressions.
