In the fall, the four winds converge on Resurrection Bay to wash away the memories of summer and replace them with the anticipation of winter. Every year, visitors arrive in the area with the expectation of winter fun and now that expectation will be more fully gratified. Excitement is building for another eventful season as Seward continues to develop the area as a destination for wintertime activities. With the list of things to do and local businesses providing recreational services growing every year, Seward’s winter continues to brighten.

The Seward Chamber of Commerce has taken a riff off their signature phrase “Alaska starts here” with another promotional line “Winter starts here.” The chamber has also upgraded their website with a section for winter activities and snow tours along with a category for winter lodging. Seward area business are already busy filling up the pages and even some locals are surprised and excited to find so much going on right under their noses. Rick Brown of Adventure Sixty North is one local business owner and winter business advocate who has been hearing from a lot of folks that are excited this winter holds so much promise.
