Lady Seahawks use their powers to levitate the ball above the basket. There was no question that the ball was mostly in for the girls team as they overwhelmed Cordova is a full spectrum onslaught of skill. The whole Seward phalanx was on point and scoring remorselessly to the final 54-38 score. Offensive action was led by the usual suspects Jasmine Perea, Ashley von Borstel and Maria Jackson and the defensive arts were deployed by rebound assets Tessa Adelmann and Kiana Clemens. The following day, the ladies suffered a minor setback falling short with 29 points to the visiting Houston Hawk’s 38.

The Seward Seahawk boys emerged unscathed at the top of their game and the conference by busting up Cordova 59-44 last Friday.

The Seward Seahawk boys emerged unscathed at the top of their game and the conference by busting up Cordova 59-44 last Friday. Defensive was the key to arena superiority as the Seahawks only granted 10 turnovers. As with recent contests against Nikiski and Homer, Matthew Moore and Jeff Buchanan were court monsters, unleashing a tsunami of scoring and rebounds. Ronnie Jackson jumped in to edge Buchanan out in the stats, a remarkable showing for the freshman. The next day, where Seward’s Michael Wolfe helped elevate the game, the Houston Hawks fared no better with a 60-48 loss.
