The viewing decks are intended to reduce bank erosion and other deleterious effects to the habitat by passers-by and creek observers. The City of Seward, the Seward Chamber of Commerce, Seward Community Foundation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Seward Wildlife Cruises collaborated with the Resurrection Bay Conservation Alliance to establish the new facilities.
