The department showed their equipment and vehicles, and the children at the event delighted to the soundings of the sirens and the flashing of the warning lights.
Several informative sessions were held including instruction for children on how to use a fire extinguisher.
Volunteers demonstrated the new extraction tool purchased earlier this year. The tool is used to cut through the tough metal of vehicles when people are trapped inside. By the end of the day the team had turned a normal looking vehicle to a pile of scrap metal.
On display were the architectual drawings and plans for the new department firehall and community center.
Those attending the open house were treated to hot dogs, cake and beverages.
