Area residents are invited to be part of a comprehensive advisory council, Seward Schools Site-Based Council, that assists in the development of area school programs; works as one decision making team, with decisions being made through consensus; and is informed and up to date on the current programs within local schools.

Three seats are open on the council, each for a 3-year term, beginning in November. The council meets the second Thursdy of each month when school is in session, seven times during the year.

Filing forms to run for the council seats are available at all Seward schools and online at bit.ly/StrfBN. The filing froms are due at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 and can be turned in at any Seward school office.

Elections for the council will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 and 2 at each Seward school.
